Adam S

Business and Operations Manager

Hi, I'm Adam! My role is all about making sure things run smoothly for our dedicated team and the clients we support. From coordinating services to managing the behind-the-scenes operations, I help keep everything running efficiently. I'm passionate about supporting our team, improving the client experience and finding smarter ways to work. I particularly enjoy exploring and implementing technology that makes our processes more efficient, streamlined and digital. My goal is simple: less time spent on paperwork and administration, and more time focused on what matters most — making a positive difference in people's lives.

A Little About Me

Before stepping into the allied health world, I spent many years working as an automotive technician and owned and operated a performance workshop. It's quite a different industry, but I've always enjoyed problem-solving, working with technology and finding ways to make things work better.

‍

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, good coffee, cars, music and pretty much anything that involves tinkering or building something. I'm also a bit obsessed with saltwater reef aquariums!

‍

‍

What do you love most about your role?

I really enjoy the problem-solving and creative side of running a business. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is finding ways to make our therapists' lives easier, whether that's improving a process, simplifying an administrative task or introducing an automation that saves everyone time.

‍

I love knowing that the improvements happening behind the scenes can make a genuine difference to our team and allow our therapists to spend more time focusing on the people they support.

‍

‍

What do you enjoy working on?

I'm particularly interested in improving the way things operate, developing our website, our online presence and finding new ways to use technology to make everyday tasks easier.

‍

I love designing and maintaining our website, exploring new software and figuring out how different systems can work together.

There's something incredibly satisfying about taking a complicated or time-consuming process and turning it into something simple, efficient and easy for everyone to use.

‍

‍

How would you describe your work style?

I'm a pretty hands-on and practical person. I've always enjoyed understanding how things work, figuring out why something isn't working as well as it could and finding a way to improve it.

‍

I like to get involved, experiment with different ideas and find solutions that actually make sense in the real world.

‍

My background as a technician probably plays a big part in that. I've always been someone who enjoys pulling things apart, understanding how they work and putting them back together, hopefully a little better than before!

‍

‍

What's your favourite type of project?

I love a good automation! There's something incredibly satisfying about taking a process that previously required multiple steps and finding a way to make it happen automatically.

‍

I also really enjoy working on our website, whether that's improving the design, making it easier for people to navigate or finding new ways to connect people with the services they're looking for.

I'm always looking for the next little improvement!

Outside the Therapy Room

‍

‍

‍

‍

What do you enjoy outside of work?

I have quite a few interests, most of which seem to involve technology, equipment or figuring out how something works!

‍

I've always loved cars, particularly performance cars. The Audi RS6 and RS3 are two of my favourites, although as I'm getting older, I'm finding myself becoming increasingly interested in Porsches!

‍

I'm also passionate about saltwater reef aquariums. I keep reef tanks at home and love everything involved in creating and maintaining these little underwater ecosystems. There's an incredible amount of technology, equipment, problem-solving and patience involved in keeping a reef tank healthy, which is probably part of why I enjoy it so much. I particularly love anemones, flowing corals and tangs. Watching the movement, colours and marine life in a thriving reef is something I never get tired of.

‍

One of my favourite parts of the hobby is sharing it with my kids and giving them the opportunity to observe, learn about and appreciate marine life.

‍

And of course, I love good coffee, listening to music, building things and spending time with my family.

‍

‍

What's your favourite food?

Definitely Lebanese food! Give me some delicious charcoal chicken, fresh tabouli, garlic sauce and a few sides, and I'm very happy. I love getting out and discovering great places to eat, especially somewhere that also makes a good coffee!

‍

‍

What's on your playlist?

This is almost impossible to answer because I listen to so many different styles of music!

I enjoy everything from house music, rock and R&B through to jazz. Some favourites include Queen, Metallica, Flume, Sonny Fodera, Diana Ross and Bob Marley. My playlist can be a pretty interesting mix depending on the day!

‍

I also absolutely love live music, especially a good acoustic cover set. There's something about hearing familiar songs performed differently that I really enjoy.

‍

‍

Favourite movies or TV shows?

For TV shows, definitely The Office (US) and Ted Lasso. I'm also a big fan of the earlier Transformers movies. I love a good comedy, great characters and a bit of action!

‍

‍

Do you have any pets?

We don't currently have any pets, but I still really miss our two English Staffies.

They were such wonderful dogs, full of personality, and I'll always have a soft spot for the breed.

We do have plenty of marine life in our reef tanks, though, which certainly keeps things interesting!
‍

‍

What's your ideal weekend?

A pretty relaxed one! A good coffee to start the day, spending time with my family, heading to the beach or getting out somewhere for a nice meal. I also love seeing live music or just sitting back and listening to something good. And if I can squeeze in some time to tinker with a project or enjoy the reef tanks, that's a bonus!

‍

‍

Beach, mountains or city?

Definitely the beach!

I love being near the water, although I'm also very happy heading into the city for a great meal, a good coffee or some live music.

‍

‍

Favourite holiday destination?

I've been fortunate enough to travel around Europe, and some of my favourite places have been Croatia and Malta. I absolutely love the beautiful coastlines, crystal-clear water, incredible food and relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle.

‍

The mountains in Montenegro are also something that have stayed with me for years. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking and unlike anywhere else I've visited. In saying that, put me on just about any tropical island and I'm happy! Sunshine, beautiful beaches, warm water and great food are my idea of a perfect holiday.

‍

And then there's Las Vegas! I've been twice and would happily go back again. And no, I'm not a gambler! I just love the atmosphere, the energy and the fact that there's always something to see or do.

‍

I guess my ideal holiday is either somewhere peaceful by the water or somewhere with so much happening that you never get bored. Two completely different experiences, but I love both!

A Few Fun Facts

‍

‍

‍

Something people might not know about you?

Before joining All Things Therapy, I was an automotive technician and owned and operated a performance workshop for many years. It's quite a different world from allied health, but I've found that many of the things I enjoyed back then, particularly problem-solving, working with technology and improving how things operate, are still a big part of what I do today.

‍

‍

Any hidden talents?

I'm pretty handy when it comes to pulling things apart, understanding how they work and figuring out how to fix or improve them. Whether it's a car, a piece of equipment or something around the house, I enjoy the challenge of working out how everything fits together.

‍

‍

What are you surprisingly good at?

Spotting things that could work a little better! Whether it's a process, a website, a piece of equipment or something around the house, I tend to notice little inefficiencies and start thinking about how they could be improved. It's probably a useful skill, although I'm not sure everyone appreciates me constantly finding new projects!

‍

‍

If you could have any superpower?

Teleportation, without a doubt! I love travelling and exploring new places, but I absolutely hate airports, long flights and being herded around like sheep!

‍

Imagine being able to skip the queues, security checks and hours of waiting, and just appear on a tropical island or in Las Vegas whenever you feel like it. That would be my kind of travelling!

‍

‍

What's your go-to karaoke song?

Absolutely none! I'm definitely not a karaoke singer, and if I'm being completely truthful, I even struggle to watch other people sing karaoke!

‍

I love music and a good live performance, but karaoke is one experience I'm very happy to leave to everyone else.

‍

‍

What always makes you smile?

Watching my kids discover something new or get genuinely excited about something they're interested in. I particularly love seeing their curiosity when they're observing the marine life in our reef tanks. And a really good coffee never hurts either!

‍

‍

What skill would you love to learn?

Playing the drums! I've always loved music, particularly the rhythm and energy of a good live performance. Being able to sit behind a drum kit and play along to some of my favourite songs would be pretty amazing.

‍

‍

‍

A Few Final Questions

‍

‍

What do you wish people knew about OT?

I'm not an Occupational Therapist myself, but working alongside our team has given me a real appreciation for just how much goes into the work they do. There's so much happening behind the scenes that people don't necessarily see, from planning and problem-solving to collaboration, advocacy and finding creative ways to support each person's individual needs.

‍

I think people would be surprised by just how broad OT is and how much thought goes into helping people participate in the things that matter to them. One of the things I really value about our team is their genuine commitment to the people they support.

‍

‍

What would you like new clients to know?

Although you probably won't see me in the therapy room, a big part of my role is making sure your experience with All Things Therapy is as straightforward, comfortable and welcoming as possible.

We understand that reaching out for support, navigating services and getting started with a new therapist can sometimes feel overwhelming.

‍

We want you to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing what's important to you and letting us know how we can make the process easier. My focus is on supporting our therapists and creating an environment where they can do their best work, so you can focus on what matters most to you.

‍

‍

What can people always chat to you about?

Cars, coffee and reef tanks! Although I'm always happy to talk about music, technology or whatever interesting project you're currently working on too. If you're into performance cars or saltwater aquariums, there's a good chance we'll have plenty to talk about!
