We recognise that every person experiences, processes, and responds to the world in their own unique way. Our neurodiversity-affirming approach values these differences and focuses on understanding each individual's strengths, preferences, and support needs.
Rather than trying to change who someone is, we work collaboratively to develop practical strategies that support participation, wellbeing, confidence, and independence in everyday life.

An Executive Functioning Assessment is an occupational therapy assessment that explores how executive functioning skills affect everyday activities and participation. This may include attention, working memory, task initiation, planning, organisation, time management, prioritisation, shifting between tasks, managing multi-step activities and task completion.
No. This is a functional occupational therapy assessment and does not diagnose ADHD, autism or other conditions. Its purpose is to understand how executive functioning presents in your everyday life and identify practical strategies and supports.
No. You do not need a formal diagnosis to complete an Executive Functioning Assessment. The assessment may be useful for anyone wanting to better understand their executive functioning and how it influences everyday activities.
Your occupational therapist may use a standardised executive functioning assessment, such as the Brown Executive Function/Attention Scales, alongside an occupational therapy assessment of your everyday functioning.
A standardised score is only one part of the assessment. Results are considered alongside your experiences, strengths, routines, environments and functional needs.
The complete assessment process is approximately five hours. This includes pre-assessment information and questionnaires, your occupational therapy assessment appointment, interpretation of findings, report preparation and development of individualised recommendations.
The face-to-face assessment appointment is generally around 1 to 1.5 hours.
Yes. You will receive an individualised occupational therapy report explaining your executive functioning profile, how the findings relate to your everyday activities and practical recommendations based on your needs and goals.
Recommendations depend on your individual profile and may include planning and organisation systems, visual schedules, routines, checklists, task breakdowns, external memory supports, time-management strategies, task initiation supports, environmental modifications and strategies for reducing cognitive load or managing competing demands.
Yes. Where relevant, your occupational therapist can explore how executive functioning affects work or study and recommend practical strategies or environmental adjustments to support participation.
No. A standardised questionnaire may form part of the assessment but it is not the end result. Your occupational therapist interprets the findings within the context of your everyday life and explores how identified patterns affect your activities, routines and environments.
The focus is on translating assessment findings into an individualised understanding and practical recommendations.
Executive Functioning Assessments may be completed using NDIS funding where occupational therapy assessment is consistent with your plan and available funding.
All Things Therapy supports self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants and also accepts private clients.
